RMOS PANAYIS
, first of the east-coast resorts, is nowadays well developed; ranks of villas dwarf the picturesque hamlet and tiny harbour, and the nearest decent beaches lie 4km north en route to Pyrgadhkia, below the inland village of yios Niklaos. The only conceivable reason to stop at rmos would be to catch the excursion boats that sail around Athos from here, but these are expensive and often prereserved for tourists bused in from the big Halkidhik resorts.
