TRISULI BAZAAR
(540m) is just 32km from Kathmandu as the crow flies, but 70km - and a good four hours - as the bus crawls. Curled at the bottom of a deep, subtropical (and once malarial) valley, it was put on the map by the construction of the Trisuli River hydroelectric project and flourished for a time as the trailhead for Langtang treks. The development bandwagon has moved on, and nowadays most trekkers don't stop in Trisuli for longer than it takes to swill a bottle of Coke and get back on the bus to Dhunche.
