TENOM
was once the bustling headquarters of the Interior District of British North Borneo, but today it's a peaceful backwater that's best-known for the impressive train journey to Beaufort (2hr 30min).
Three types of train
ply the Tenom-Beaufort route daily - diesel (Mon-Sat 7.30am & 1.40pm; Sun 7.55am, 12.10pm & 3.05pm; RM2.75); cargo (Mon-Sat 8am; RM2.75); and railcar (Mon-Sat 6.40am & 4pm, Sun 7.20am; RM8.35).
