TENEJAPA
, about 28km northeast of San Cristbal through some superb mountain scenery, is the closest easily accessible Tzeltal village, and has a reasonably good Sunday market, and there are wonderful
hikes
into the surrounding mountains.

leave for Tenejapa from Bermudas, an unmarked side street running east from the market, near the corner with Yajalon, about hourly or when full (1hr). Last one back to San Cristbal leaves Tenejapa at 3pm.
