Extract from the South Queensferry Travel Guides:
Ten miles northwest of Edinburgh city centre is
SOUTH QUEENSFERRY
, a compact little town used by St Margaret as a crossing point for her frequent trips between her palaces in Edinburgh and Dunfermline. The small
museum
, 53 High St (Mon & Thurs-Sat 10am-1pm & 2.15-5pm, Sun noon-5pm; free), contains relics of the town's history and information on the building of the two bridges which loom over the village. A dedicated museum to the bridge can be found in North Queensferry, while the best way to get a good view of the magnificent Rail Bridge is to walk (or cycle) across the adjacent parallel Road Bridge.
