Skithos Town
, where the ferries dock, looks great from a distance, but as you approach, tourist development becomes very apparent, especially to the east side of the port and around Alexndhrou Papadhiamndi, where most of the services, the tackier shops, "English" pubs and eateries are located. But tucked into the alleys on the western, older side of town, it is still possible to find some pockets of charm: older houses, gardens and flowers galore. Skithos boasts some good restaurants and nightclubs, and can be fun, in a crowded, boisterous way.
