SILAY
is one of the historic centres of the sugar industry. The few tourists that come here do so for the sugar trains and the marvellous ancestral houses. The most interesting aspect of the trains - iron dinosaurs, as they are known - is that they are fuelled by bagasse, a by-product of sugar production.
