Neighbouring
POLPERRO
is smaller and quainter than Looe, but has a similar feel. The surrounding cliffs and the tightly packed houses rising on each side of the pretty harbour have an undeniable charm, and the tangle of lanes is little changed since the village's heyday of smuggling and pilchard fishing, but the "discovery" of Polperro has almost ruined it, and its straggling main street - the Coombes - is now an unbroken row of tourist shops and fast-food outlets.
