PATITRI
is not a good introduction to the island, though it's trying hard to rectify that. The port, a pretty cove flanked by pine trees, is marred by rows of flat-roofed concrete buildings rising up behind it. Nevertheless, the line of near-identical bars and restaurants that runs along the waterfront is pleasant enough. Alnissos attracts fewer visitors than Skathos or Skpelos; most of those who do come stay in Patitri, and from mid-July to the end of August it can get very crowded.
