Extract from the Okinawa City Travel Guides: Local tourist literature makes much of the international feel of OKINAWA CITY , roughly 20km north of Naha. With the Kadena Base just up the road, it's not surprising that the streets are full of American adverts, chain restaurants and 24-hour shops. But it's all rather tacky and, apart from its hotels and restaurants, the city doesn't really have anything to offer the majority of tourists.
