From Adenau, regular buses run to the tiny health resort of
NRBURG
. This takes it name from the
Nrburg
(Tues-Sun 9am-1pm & 2-5/6pm; closed Dec; DM3/?1.50), which stands on one of the highest peaks in the Eifel range (678m). It was originally the site of a Roman fort, but the ruins you see today are of a twelfth-century castle destroyed by French soldiers after a long siege in 1690. There are a few
