The modern village of
MYKNES
is 2km from the junction of the main Krinthos-rgos highway and the train station, at Fkhti, but not all trains on the Krinthos-rgos line stop here. Buses from Athens to rgos or Nfplio usually drop passengers at the junction (the caf here sells bus tickets), rather than in Myknes village; crowded local buses from Nfplio via rgos serve the village and site. The walk in from the main highway is along a beautiful straight road partly lined with eucalyptus trees, through which glimpses of the citadel appear, flanked by the twin peaks of Zra and Ilas.
