MOLYVDHOSKPASTOS
hugs the Albanian border 23km west of Knitsa. The place was once a haunt of the seventh-century emperor Constantine IV Pogonatos, though only a few of his monuments survive intact. One of these is the tiny chapel of

If you can get in, the church has fine frescoes, and the view from its terrace - into Albania, over the As valley, and east to Smlikas and Gamla - is among the finest in Epirus.
