MAMASA
is a spacious village of wooden houses beside Sungai Mamasa, where electricity and telephones are still very recent arrivals. The marketplace and most amenities are on Jalan Ahmed Yani, with everything else scattered around the perimeter of a large football field. A mosque sits in the shadows between the market and river, but Mamasa is predominantly Christian, and a white stone church dominates the slope above town.
