Unless you're here off-season, some idea of what to expect in
MALHAM
comes at the vast peripheral car park, likely to be packed solid with hikers and day-trippers. The village is home to barely more than a couple of hundred people, who inhabit the huddled stone houses on either side of a bubbling river, but this microscopic gem attracts perhaps half a million visitors a year.
