Six kilometres north of the Corinth Canal is the spa resort of
LOUTRKI
. The epicentre of the 1981 Corinth earthquake, it has today straight lines of unmemorable concrete buildings. The resort is nonetheless immensely popular, with a larger concentration of hotels than anywhere else in the Peloponnese. The visitors are mostly Greek or Italian, coming here since 1847 for the "cure" at the hot springs, and to sample Loutrki mineral water - the country's leading bottled brand.
