Extract from the Germany Travel Guides:
Germany
has always been the problem child of Europe. For over a millennium it was no more than a loose confederation of separate states and territories, whose number at times topped the thousand mark. When unification belatedly came about in 1871, it was achieved almost exclusively by military might; as a direct result of this, the new nation was consumed by a thirst for power and expansion abroad. Defeat in World War I only led to a desire for revenge, the consequence of which was the Third Reich, a regime bent on mass genocide and an European, indeed world, domination. It took another tragic global war to crush this system and its people.... read the whole Germany Travel Guides...

| To Stay : Camping |
|
| Want somewhere to camp in Dsseldorf? I found Campingplatz Unterbacher See a great one, which is located just next to Lake Unterbacher on the eastern outskirts of the city. Actually, many tourists visit this place just before Easter and stay until September. Space there for caravans, camper vans, tents, etc. The main facilities are some modern buildings which include a landing stage, a kids play area, a small shop, caravan and bicycle hire.
The beach is very close to the main area.
If you check in, costs might come to EUR26 for singles.

| To Do And See : 100-year-old zoo |
|
| If you are you a wildlife fanatic, then go to Zoologischer Garten, Pfaffendorfer Strae 29, Leipzig, Sachsen.
This 22-hectare site has numerous highlights including a fun-filled monkey house and a great aquarium. This zoo has a hundred year old history and is highly noted for its carnivore collection. They have bred more that 2,000 lions and 250 rare Siberian tigers! A fantastic treat for all animal lovers.
