FLOMOHRI
is relatively fertile, and the village has maintained a reasonable population as well as a last imposing group of tower-houses.
KTRONAS
, a few kilometres downhill, feels like another, softer country. It is still a fishing village, and its pebble beach (there are sandy strips further around the bay) and causeway-islet make it a good last stop in the region. The village is frequented by a fair number of tourists (mainly Germans) each summer, and has a trio of pensions. The most pleasant is the well-priced
