It is at
DHIAKOFT
(officially Dhiakopt) that the rack-and-pinion railway heads south up into the Vouraks gorge for Kalvryta. If you arrive late in the day, it's worth spending the night here and making the train journey in daylight; the town can, in any case, be an attractive alternative to staying overnight in Ptra. The climate is very pleasant, less humid than Ptra and less furnace-like than Korintha province to the east. There are four
