CNEDA
, the commercial centre of Vittorio Veneto, is primarily worth a visit for the
Museo della Battaglia
(Tues-Sun: May-Sept 10am-noon & 4.30-6.30pm; Oct-April 10am-noon & 3-5pm; L5000/?2.58), whose loggia was built by Sansovino. The dull cathedral is right next door; turn right out of the station and keep going until you see the sign for the centre. The museum is dedicated to the climactic Battle of Vittorio: fought in October 1918, this was the final engagement of World War I for the Italian Army and marked the end of the Austro-Hungarian empire, which is why most towns in Italy have a Via Vittorio Veneto.Overlo...
