, 70km downriver. A peaceful one-street town, Chiang Khong is the only other land
border with Laos
, aside from Nong Khai, where you can turn up and get your Lao visa. The most scenic way to get from Chiang Saen to Chiang Khong is by motorbike; an exciting alternative is to run the rapids on a hired longtail boat (B1200; 3hr).
