At the terminus of the branch rail line 15km southeast of Alttting lies
BURGHAUSEN
, which for centuries ranked alongside Munich, Landshut, Ingolstadt and Straubing as one of the five residential towns of the Bavarian dukes. Nowadays, it's a modest-sized border town and an affluent centre for computer-based industries.
