The dull fishing and service town of
BUCKIE
is home to the
Buckie Drifter
heritage museum (April-Oct Mon-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun noon-5pm; 2.75), a hands-on exhibition telling the history of the area's fishing industry. It's well geared to families, though inevitably given the dominance of fishing a century and more ago, it's only one of half-a-dozen maritime heritage museums found up and down this coast.
Buckie also marks the terminus of the
Speyside Way
long-distance footpath. This follows the coast west for five miles to windy
