is the home of a famous artist and printer,

, some of whose work you may have seen in the Casa da Cultura and Penha craft shop in Recife. He has a roadside workshop on the left as you leave town. Inside, you can see the carved wooden plates he makes to manufacture the prints on paper and cloth; the smaller ones are for the covers of
