Burg Trifels
(Tues-Sun 9am-5/6pm; DM6/?3). To get here you have to walk up a steep path to the jagged crag on which it stands, but it's well worth the trek. The Burg is one of the most venerable in Germany, dating back to the eleventh century, and was supposedly one of Frederick Barbarossa's favourite haunts.
