On the DN1, 11km north of Teius, is
AIUD
(Nagyenyed), an attractive town despite the grim reputation of its prison, which was used to hold Soviet spies during World War II and Iron Guardists after the Communist takeover. From the
train station
it's a fifteen-minute walk to the centre - head up Strada Cosbuc, just to the left of the station, and after the stadium turn right then left past the prison to the
bus station
on Strada Bailor. The town's centre has one of the oldest
fortresses
